Frequently Asked Questions
Beginning therapy is a meaningful step. This page is here to answer common questions about the experience, logistics, and what to expect when working with Rhema Healing and Wellness.
Who do you work with?
I work with adults ages 21 and older. Many of the individuals I support are navigating anxiety, stress, depression, trauma, life transitions, emotional exhaustion, and the unique pressures that can come with being high-achieving while carrying a great deal internally.
What is therapy like with you?
Therapy with me is warm, grounded, and collaborative. My intention is to create a space where you feel safe enough to be honest, supported enough to soften, and empowered enough to move toward meaningful healing and change.
Do you offer faith-based counseling?
Yes, when desired. I believe in the way of Jesus. As trauma-conscious practitioner, faith practices can be thoughtfully integrated into the work for clients who would like that included in their care. I’m more inclined to use scripture metaphorically in more of a storytelling manner than direct quoting of scripture. Your preferences, values, and comfort always guide the process.
How long are sessions?
Standard therapy sessions are approximately 50 minutes in length unless otherwise arranged.
Are sessions in person or virtual?
Availability for in-person and virtual sessions may vary based on scheduling and clinical appropriateness. Current options can be discussed during the consultation or intake process.
Is paperwork required before the first appointment?
Yes. New clients are asked to complete intake forms, informed consent documents, and insurance or payment information through the client portal before the first session.
What is your cancellation policy?
Because appointment times are reserved exclusively for each client, late cancellations and missed appointments may be subject to a fee. Full policy details are provided in the intake paperwork.
How do I get started?
You can begin by reaching out through the contact page or requesting an appointment through the client portal here. Once your information is received, you will be guided through the next steps for scheduling and intake.
What if I need immediate help?
Rhema Healing and Wellness does not provide emergency or crisis services. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency or need immediate support, call 911, go to your nearest emergency room, or call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
